50th Anniversary March on Washington
  • 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington

On August 27th hundreds of citizens attended the 2013 Conference on Civil Rights: Marching Forward By Looking Back. The following morning, on August 28, 2013, thousands of citizens, from across this country, converged upon our nation’s capital to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington.
This site provides opportunities for people to share remembrances of and pictures from both marches. Additionally, visitors to this site can get updates on a variety of ongoing civil rights initiatives intended to make Dr. King’s dream a reality.

    Thank you for your support!

This original and authentic GMC 1950s transit bus was painstakingly restored and repainted to match (in every way) the Montgomery bus in which Ms. Parks refused to give up her seat.  However what makes this historic bus so special is the fact that a state of the art audio, visual, and computer system has been installed making it a one of a kind educational and interactive experience.  The Civil Rights Museum on Wheels will be making its way into Washington, DC in early August 2013.  Be sure to stop by and experience this unique and very special exhibit.

Thank God for the persons who had the foresight to preserve this history; thank Him more for the persons who made the history.

This sounds like a priceless Civil Rights learning experience for ALL ages. I realize there will probably be a line to get on the bus, but once on it how long does it normally take to enjoy the entire experience. Also, is there a fee/donation suggested. Thanks to all who put this experience together.
